North Eastern Railway published a notification advertising 954 vacant posts of gateman for ex-army personnel only. There are 230 vacancies for Lucknow Zone and 724 for Varanasi Zone. Application forms for the recruitment can be submitted till 5th August. Then, after analysing those applications, the authority will allow applicants to make changes in it (if required) till 20th August. However, if any field in the form is not kept empty, then the board will give another chance to them to enter the details till 30th August.

After selection, nominees will be posted at these locations in Lucknow zone – Balrampur, Barabanki, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Sant Kabir Nagar, Siddharthnagar and Sitapur districts. Under Varanasi Zone: Allahabad, Azamgarh, Ballia, Bhadoi, Chhapra, Deoria, Ghazipur, Gopalganj, Gorakhpur, Jaunpur, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Mau, Siwan.

How To Apply: Applications for the recruitment can be submitted using both the modes – online and offline.

Online: The registration can be made using www.ner.indianrailways.gov.in. On the home page, go for the contact us/ recruitment link. After that, on the next page, select recruitment and section and then select RRC. if applicants facing technical problem then they can contact on [email protected].

Offline: apart from online method, candidates can also write the application from their own on a white paper or can type as well. They need to submit that form through postal service to President of Railway Vacancy Cell, North Eastern Railway, CCS Building, Railway Road No.- 14, Gorakhpur- 273012.

The recruitment body is not charging any kind of fee for application forms.

Eligibility Criteria:

Age Limit: Applicants age can be 65 years maximum as on 1st January 2019. Educational Qualifications: Applicant must be 10th passed.

For the shortlisted candidates, a medical examination will be conducted first and those who qualify that test will be appointed for the posts.

Contestants will also be called for the document verification in which, they need to bring original as well as photocopies of the required documents.
