Odisha Public Service Commission made an advertisement (ADVERTISEMENT N0.05 OF 2018-19) public recently. According to that notification, OPSC to conduct Odisha Civil Services recruitment 2018 for a total of 218 vacancies of Group A & Group B under Civil Services. Applications for this recruitment can be filled and submitted from 3rd September. Candidates must read out the complete notice first before applying online. All the applicants have to submit their applications before the last date i.e. 3rd October 2018. Fee payment can be made till 5th October.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit: the applicant must not have been born earlier than 2nd January 1986 and not later than 1st January 1997. In other terms, candidate’s age must be between 21 years to 32 years. Reserved category candidates can avail the relaxations as per the Government rules.

The commission will consider only the date of birth entered in the High School Certificate or equivalent issued by the concerned board.

Educational Qualifications: candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university incorporated incorporated by an Act of the Central or a State Legislature in India or deemed to be a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or an Educational Institution established by an act of parliament or a Foreign University approved by the central government.

Selection Procedure: A three-stage procedure will be organised to select the best professionals for the Odisha Civil Services recruitment 2018 –

• first stage: preliminary examination,
• second stage: Main examination and
• third stage: personality Test or interview.

The preliminary examination consists of two papers that will contain multiple choice questions. Each part will be of 200 marks. Both the preliminary and mains examination would be arranged at these five zonal centres of the state – Cuttack, Berhampur, Sambalpur, Bhubaneswar and Balasore.

Number of Attempts: an eligible candidate can attempt the civil services examination four times. There is no limit for the candidates belonging to SC or ST category.

Candidates applying for the recruitment will have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 300/-. Once paid, fee will not be adjusted for any other recruitment conducted by the Odisha Public Service Commission not be refunded. Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PwD (whose permanent disability is more than 40%) category are excluded from the fee payment.
