Visakhapatnam Port Trust has invited applications for engaging candidates as for various trade apprentice posts under Apprenticeship Act 1961. For a total of 58 vacancies, candidates can submit applications before 25th August (last date). Note: Visakhapatnam Port Trust is not liable to provide any employment to the candidates after completion of apprenticeship training or applied for the same.

Vacancies are distributed as follows –

• Welder: 09,
• Electrician: 12,
• Fitter: 21,
• Mechanic (Motor Vehicle): 03,
• Carpenter: 03,
• Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic: 01,
• Electronics Mechanic: 05 and
• Turner: 04.

As educational qualifications, the candidate must have passed the ITI in relevant trade (applying for) for not less than one year of duration. Duration should be at least 2 years for the posts of the carpenter.

Age Limit: Applicant must have completed the minimum age of 14 years as on 31st July 2018. Relaxations for the reserved category candidates is applicable as per Apprentices Act, 1961.

Submission of Applications: candidates can apply online only through www.apprenticeship.gov.in (authenticated web portal of the corporation).

Selection procedure: Engagement of candidates as trade apprentices will be made on the basis of merit which would be prepared after analysing the aggregate marks of contenders obtained in the ITI. Those, who are shortlisted, will have to appear for the certificates verification. Later on, the trades will be allotted to candidates.

The candidate shall fill up the applications in English in his/ her own handwriting. The filled application must reach the Chief Mechanical Engineer, Visakhapatnam Port Trust, Visakhapatnam-530035 before 3 PM on 25th August. Candidates can submit their forms physically as well. The retired/ working/ deceased employees of Visakhapatnam Port Trust & Cargo Handling Department should submit forms of their children to the CME/ VPT through their respective heads of department.

Along with the application form, candidates also need to attach documents for the proof of age, mak sheet, caste certificate etc. Applications without the required copies of certificates will be rejected summarily. Applications comprising of incorrect details or not filled completely will not be accepted by the corporation.
