Facebook, the social networking giant has been working vigorously to improves its News Feed by adding more interesting features to its mobile apps. This way, it is trying to enhance the experience for the users who have been bearing from slower internet connections. Facebook is rolling out new enhancements to its News Feed on its Android app in terms of speed and usage of Facebook even in offline mode. Users who are suffering from poor internet connections can now experience by overcoming the fluctuations in the network.

Certainly it is an interesting move by the social networking site that enables users to comment on posts even when you are offline. You need not worry that you’ve missed commenting on some of your friend’s post due to your poor network connectivity.

Just type in your comment and it will save your comment until you’re connected again and then post it automatically once your connection resumes. The company has introduced numerous updates to  enhance the way users work on slower internet connections.

Facebook Improves News Feed With More Updates

Ability to comment on posts when you’re offline and enhancement of News Feed experience of the users are not only the changes that the company has revamped. It’s a lot more than this. If you are on a slow connection, News Feed will initially fetch previous posts from the last time it had downloaded posts for you and then load any fresh content. And to streamline it greatly, Facebook will only display posts to you haven’t scrolled through initial so that you can start exactly where you left.

In a Facebook blog post, the company stated that “Our mission with News Feed is to connect people with the stories that matter most to them, but if people’s News Feeds aren’t loading because of poor internet connections, we can’t show them the most relevant stories.”

The blog post also added, “as a next step in improving people’s experiences on slower internet connections, we are shipping several changes that will more efficiently show you relevant stories in your News Feed when you’re on a slow connection and will let you compose comments on posts when you’re offline.”

The company has been working since a long time to improve the News Feed and enhance the viewing experience of the users. The company is aiming to keep your News Feed updated throughout the day by digging out stories while you are online. But this new update comes with a snag. While this new feature of Facebook might drive an excitement in you, it will at the cost of a greater bandwidth and battery consumption.

In the month of October, Facebook updated its app to identify poor internet connections and bring you the unread posts from the device memory. Also, the video ads were displayed in a slideshow format that provided 2G speeds. All these modifications will benefit anyone who is on a slow internet connection, such as 2G, or even those whose network connectivity is usually good but who have interrupted connections in areas like subways and tunnels, or at large events respectively.
