Sachin Tendulkar Is The 1st Batsman Ever To Be Dismissed By 3rd Umpire Decision

As the generations go on the past, technology goes on developing. Technology in the game of Cricket also developed in various aspects. Earlier, there was no third umpire decision-making system. The field umpires, who see the dismissal once, had to give the decision whether it is correct or not. After the third umpire decision-making system came, it had been easy to give the decision by watching the play on a screen by replying it.

The third umpire is decision-making system in cricket is a concept by former Sri Lankan Test cricketer and cricket writer Mahinda Wijesinghe. This system was first introduced in a Test match on 14 November 1992 at Kingsmead in Durban with South Africa vs India series. Little Master Sachin Tendulkar was the first batsman to be given run out by the third umpire using TV replays.

Liebenberg was the third umpire who gave the decision for the first time.
