After David Warner Talks About Not Playing For Australia, Harsha Bhogle Questions Him!!
The whole world was shocked when they came to know about the ball-tampering scandal involving Steve Smith, David Warner, and Cameron Bancroft. Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft apologized as soon as they reach the Sydney airport but Warner didn’t do the same and took his own time to address the media about the incident. David was devastated by the incident and revealed how the incident ruined his career.
Warner broke down while addressing the press saying
“To the fans and the lovers of the game who have supported and inspired me on my journey as a cricketer, I want to sincerely apologize for betraying your trust in me, Warner said during an emotional press conference.I have let you down badly. I hope in time I can find a way to repay you for all you’ve given me and earn you respect again.”
“I suppose there is a tiny ray of hope that I may one day be given the privilege of playing for my country again, but I am resigned to the fact that may never happen,”
This left the whole world thinking because how can the 31-year-old player say that he may not play for his team again as the ban was only for a year. Even the same doubt was expressed by Harsha Bhogle on twitter saying,
” If David Warner is resigned to the fact that he may never play for Australia again, has he, in effect, been given a lifetime ban? If it is indeed so, there is a story I am waiting to hear because that can’t be about this incident alone.”
There have been many reports stating about Warner’s rude behavior is getting intolerable by the team members and some other reports state that the team doesn’t want him to come back. Did these events turning against him lead him to say this statement about lifetime ban? Well, only David Warner can talk about this!
As of now, Cricket Australia imposed a ban of 1 year on both Steve Smith and David Warner and a 9month ban on Cameron Bancroft. Warner was the mastermind behind the whole ball-tampering saga and was charged that he is the one who asked Cameron to use the sandpaper.
