Steve Smith Receives A Good News From Team Rajasthan Royals!

Recently the Australian Cricket Team Captain, Steve Smith along with Vice Captain, David Warner, and Bowler Cameron Bancroft were found guilty of Ball Tampering scandal while they were playing against South Africa. Though all three of them apologized, Cricket Board of Australia is in no mood to listen to them and placed a ban on Smith and Warner for 1 year and 9 months on Bancroft.

Steve Smith and David Warner were extremely emotional while addressing the press meet and took the full responsibility of the tampering on themselves as the captain and vice-captain of the team respectively. They apologized for their mistake to the cricket lovers and also asked forgiveness from their country for letting them down.

Cameron is getting ready to challenge the judgment in the court of law while Smith accepted the punishment for his mistake. Smith is extremely devastated by the whole incident and was seen breaking down at the press conference arranged.

But there is a good news for Smith in the form of an official statement released by IPL team Rajasthan Royals. The team opened that they are not going to leave Steve Smith and he’ll be a part of the team in the next year’s IPL as his ban period will be served by then.

Currently, Steve Smith and David Warner are out of the IPL because of their 1year ban from playing the sport while Mitchell Starc also chose to stay out of the game due to his injury. There is no news of David Warner whether he’ll be continuing in the orange army after serving his ban period or if the team chose him to leave him out.

The CoA decided to put a ban on the cricketers for this season of IPL and released a statement saying,

“The Committee of Administrators (CoA) on Wednesday took cognizance of the developments in the ball tampering incident involving Cricket Australia contracted cricketers – Mr. Steve Smith, Mr. David Warner and Mr. Cameron Bancroft,” a BCCI statement said.

The CoA, in consultation with BCCI Acting President Mr. CK Khanna, IPL Chairman Mr. Rajeev Shukla and BCCI Acting Hon. Secretary Mr. Amitabh Choudhary, has decided to ban Mr. Smith and Mr. Warner with immediate effect from participation in IPL 2018.”

Well, this ball-tampering scandal hit the careers of these cricketers very badly and they lost several contracts because of the same. Both Smith and Warner lost their IPL contracts this year and faced a loss of Rs.12 crores and Rs. 12.5 crores respectively.
