BJP leader and former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu was admitted to a private hospital here and is undergoing treatment for acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT). He is being treated in Delhi’s Apollo hospital as there is a clot in his vein. However, his condition is reported to be stable.

“Mr Navjot Singh Sidhu was admitted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals Delhi today evening with acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT). This is a life threatening condition if not treated on time. Mr Sidhu has been put on blood thinners and has been recovering well. His condition is said to be stable as of now,” said a statement issued by Indraprastha Apollo Hospital.

Sidhu, who is known for his lively nature, himself took to micro blogging site Twitter and wrote that “Down but Not Out”, along with his picture.

Sidhu played 51 Tests and 136 ODIs for India between 1983 and 1999. Sidhu has been a two-time former MP from Amritsar constituency in Punjab.
