Dhoni ‘The Finisher’ Is Not Yet Finished, The Twilight Years Have Begun For Him

MS Dhoni is been playing in the National team after a gap of three months. But it seems that his plan is not working proper since the first T20 match against South Africa. Team India lost the T20 series and also the first ODI in Kanpur with just 5 runs. Thus, MS Dhoni is being considered as a villain for not being able to score high and losing all the matches. Everyone is criticizing Dhoni for the team’s loss against South Africa.

MS Dhoni being blamed for the team's loses

Dhoni failed to score 11 runs in an over off a young bowler in the first ODI. Thus, everyone is blaming Dhoni for these losses. But before deciding that Dhoni was the person for these loses, we should think about the below specifications of who is to be blamed for the losses. Here are few reasons of why Dhoni shouldn’t be blamed.

MS Dhoni, this year he scored 459 runs in 16 matches with an average of 41.70. On the other hand, Kohli has scored 389 runs in 16 matches at an average of 29.92. This is one of the reasons why Dhoni shouldn’t be blamed. Each and every time India loses the match, all blame Dhoni for the loss as he was the only person in the team.

Once if we go back to the past, Dhoni’s achievements would make us proud but now everyone thinks about his team’s losses. Dhoni has been a finisher for India for so long and that made everyone he would win any match at any situation as he was called as ‘Great Finisher’. Dhoni is being treated as an invaluable player to the team and as well as a skilled wicketkeeper.

All he needs in his transitional twilight years is a little support from his fans and a pinch of good luck because he is not going anywhere anytime soon. So, there seems to be a bit of confusion about Dhoni’s role in the side at the moment. The best for Dhoni and the team would be if he could get back some belief and form as a finisher. If that happens, he could still win a few more matches for India.
