An unnamed Indian cricketer has been arrested by the Zimbabwe police for raping a local woman in Harare. According to various sources, the incident took place in the same hotel where the Indian cricket team was staying. Charity Charamba, Assistant Police Commissioner confirmed that one Indian was involved in the horrible incident.

Charity said, “The victim has pointed an Indian national from the batch that came in last week, at this point I’m not in the position to reveal whether it’s a player or official as I’m bound by law. But, what I can confirm is that the accused appeared in court on Saturday.”

A source close to the developments said, “the girl claims to have been drugged, then waking up to bloodied undergarments in one of the member’s rooms. She also said that she had no clue on how she reached the room.”

“We have concluded our investigation, but both the police and courts have to handle the issue with care as it can lead to a potential diplomatic feud,” Charamba added.

However, so far they have confirmed that an Indian national was involved, but there has been no confirmation that a member of Indian Cricket team was directly involved. Further, there were no Indians at the hotel expect the Indian cricket team, which has raised so many questions!
