IPL 2016: Gautham Gambhir Comes Out In Support Of Dhoni After RPS Lost To RCB
As everyone is busy in blaming and criticising MS Dhoni for his IPL team Rising Pune Supergiants loses, Kolkata Knight Riders (KK) captain Gautam Gambhir has come out in support of World Cup winning Captain MS Dhoni. Rising Pune Supergiants’ has won 3 out of 10 matches in this IPL season.
Gambhir opines that “a captain is as good as his team” and if the boys are not performing consistently, very little can be done from Captain’s side. Gambhir in his column wrote:
“I can feel what MS Dhoni would be going through after his team’s loss to Royal Challengers Bangalore on Saturday night. They had a decent total (191) but by no means an invincible one. For the Bangalore wicket and the small ground, maybe it was about 25 runs short.
While bowling, Pune managed to get KL Rahul and AB de Villiers out before they could hurt them. Post that, they ran into an intimidating Virat Kohli, well supported by Shane Watson. Virat and Watson batted exceedingly well but watching all of it unfolds, you couldn’t but feel sorry for Dhoni.”
Under Dhoni’s captaincy CSK won two IPL trophies, reaching the playoffs in all the editions and it even did a double in 2010, winning both the IPL and CLT20. Gambhir said that he never sought to shy away from giving credit to Dhoni for all the success which the Indian team received under him.
