During an interview after the match, Shami said, “Chris Gayle and I were together during the IPL. Once you play, you get an idea. The one thing that I thought was that if I didn’t allow him to open his arms, then it would be good because at some stage, he would go for it.”

Mohammed Shami was brought into the first XI after an injury struck Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

India is currently sitting on the second place of the points table with 11 points, Australia is currently on the top with 12 points. New Zealand also has 11 points but is in the third place.
