Out of the galore of victories in Team India’s kitty, the World Cup wins in subsequent years 1983, 2007 and 2011 stand as the best of all. It is truly believed that the epic journey of Team India took a huge leap in 2007. Thanks to Mahendra Singh Dhoni for reminiscing the good old days’ charm.
Out of our witnesses, there are lot many things we aren’t aware of the Indian team, it might be the symbols on jerseys, the colors they wear and most importantly the message they carry.
Now, following the great Indian cricket odyssey, the Indian fraternity has come with an idea that reminds the successful voyages the squad had till now. Putting aside the symbols and names of the sponsors there are few marks on the jerseys that convey greater meaning and mark the status of success.
The most important and recent addition to the jersey is the ‘three stars’, we can acknowledge them spiraled atop the BCCI logo. They mark the honor for the three world cups won by Indian team
Prominent firm Nike is all set to manufacture more t-shirts with those stars and make them available for the consumers. How could someone forget that fusion of smiles and tears of joy as the country cheered Team India, who became World Champions for the first time on home soil and for the third time in history, the fans stood together in the true bleed blue fashion during the World Cup finals on April 2nd, 2011.
Indian skipper Virat Kohli has talked about the progress in Indian cricket team went saying, “I know there’s a billion-plus hope always riding on our team. That’s why I try to play with responsibility and with respect to the team’s needs. The pressure’s always on, so my focus has to be too.”
Talking about the jersey, Kohli was quoted saying, “I feel really proud – for me, the Three Stars on the jersey represents what the Indian team is today and how much they have achieved. I feel really honored to be a part of a team that has won three World Cups.”
Well, this is definitely a good initiative which every Indian must take pride in.
