Virat Kohli Battles Injury, Despite Needing Stitches On His Left Hand, Scores Fifty In A Style
RCB Skipper Virat Kohli got yet another half-century in the yesterday’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders. While his partner AB de Villiers at the other end also batted well and built a good partnership. Virat Kohli said that ‘It feels great, batting under pressure situations.’
In the yesterday’s match, Kohli suffered a split in his webbing during the first innings. Despite needing stitches on his left hand, battled on to score his fifth half-century of the season and helped his team win the match.
When asked about his performance in the face of adversity, Kohli said that it did not matter if I played with 10 stitches, as long as the team won. This statement itself proves how he dedicates his life to the game of cricket.
He also went on to break Chris Gayle’s record (733) of most number of runs scored in a season. Kohli has scored 752 runs so far in this season.
RCB are currently 5th in the points table. With the tournament nearing its league stage, the team has to win both their upcoming two matches to stay in the race for qualifying for playoffs.
