South Korean multinational conglomerate headquartered in Samsung Town, Seoul, Samsung launched a premium smartphone Samsung Galaxy A8 Star last week. First time, the smartphone went o sale today (27th August). The smartphone comes with two rear cameras with the company’s ‘Dual Rear IntelliCam’ technology. The rear camera setup includes 24 Megapixel and 16 Megapixel sensors with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera (24 Megapixel) comes with a f/2.0 aperture. The front camera holds Pro Lighting and Smart Beauty features.
Samsung Galaxy A8 Star supports Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC that holds quad-core 2.2GHz Kryo 260 and quad-core 1.8GHz Kryo 260 CPUs paired with 6 GB RAM. 6.3-inch full-HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) Super AMOLED Infinity Display along with a 3D (2.5D) glass protection frame. The model runs Android 8.1 Oreo with Samsung Experience UX. The dual SIM supporting smartphone also bears a face unlock feature (one can unlock the screen using his/ her face). Galaxy A8 Star bundles a 3,700 mAh battery.
The handset supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5 GPS/ A-GPS,NFC, a 3.5mm headphone jack and USB Type-C as connectivity options. The smartphone features 64GB onboard storage that can be expanded up to 400GB using microSD card. Samsung Galaxy A8 Star holds a price tag of Rs. 34,990 in India.
