In the last decade, Corning has made its way to become the most preferred glass protection for mobile devices. As in the previous decade, the mobile phones have become a bit more fragile. Since they have a full touchscreen. Which means even a slightest of fall or bump. Could very well shatter it to pieces. Also, thus, it brings up the need for glass protection more than ever. Now, Corning has launched new Gorilla Glass 6. According to them, it is 2x durable than its previous version.
Details about Gorilla glass 6.
A few years ago, Gorilla Glass 5 was launched. Which was in July 2016. Also, now in 2018, Gorilla glass 6 is started. Comparing it to the previous version. It is designed out of “entirely new material.” Which will help the glass to withstand multiple drops? As per the New York-based company Corning, this is the most durable glass up to date.
What do experts say?
Dr. Jaymin Amin who is Vice President of Technology and Product Development at Corning Gorilla Glass and Corning Specialty Materials. Said,
“Gorilla Glass 6 is an entirely new glass composition which is strengthened chamically to give it significantly higher levels of compression than is possible with Gorilla Glass 5,”.
He added, “This enables Gorilla Glass 6 to be more resistant to damage. Moreover, with breaks during drops being a probabilistic event, the added compression helps increase, on average, the likelihood of survival through multiple drop events.”
Features.
As per reports, the new glass is designed in a way that it provides. Better optical clarity, touch sensitivity, scratch resistance, efficient wireless charging and enhanced durability. Which is really essential in the new devices.
When will it reach the market?
As per reports, when Galaxy Note 9. Which is likely to be launched next month. Could very well be the first ever device, with Gorilla glass 6. Which means the device which is planned to hit the market on August 9. Is most likely to bring the glass to the market. Apart from Samsung, many buyers are evaluating the glass panel.
With better performance, this could very quickly become the go choice. For all flagship devices in the future.
