Teen Girl From Andhra Pradesh Reunites With Family Through Facebook After 12 Years

A teenager that went missing 12 years ago in Andhra Pradesh has been reunited with her family thanks to Facebook, a social media platform that has over 2 billion active users.

The reunion of Bhavani with her family became possible thanks to the efforts of Vamsi Krishna, who helped her search her parents and siblings on Facebook.

Bhavani was working as a domestic helper at the house of Vamsi when they found her parents on social media.

During an inquiry, Bhavani told Vamsi that she got separated from her parents when she was just 4-years-old.

Bhavani got separated from her parents at the Vijayanagaram district.

The 4-year-old got adopted by a woman and was raised by her.

Vamsi, the man that hired Bhavani, interviewed her and asked her where she came from.

Bhavani told Vamsi that she was adopted, which is also the reason why she could not show her any documents.

Vamsi said, “I used to check the documents of people I hire. So, I asked the girl for documents to know her age. She told me that she does not have any document as she was adopted by a woman when she went missing.”

He added, “I asked her whether she wants to connect with her real parents. She said yes. Then I took details from her and started searching on Facebook.”

Vamsi said he sent a message to a number of people on Facebook, and only some of them reverted to his messages.

Vamsi explained, “I sent a message to some people. And one has reverted to my message. I took his details, which matched the information provided by the girl. He then requested for a video call. He and her parents later confirmed that the girl belong to their family.”

Talking about the reunion, Bhavani said she is very happy to go back to her parents.

The person Vamsi found on Facebook is the brother of Bhavani.
