Oscar Nominations 2015: Complete list Of 87th Academy Award nominees: The 87th Academy Award nominations were announced Thursday morning in Los Angeles. Birdman and The Grand Budapest Hotel led this year’s class of Oscar films with nine nominations apiece, including nods for Best Picture and Best Director. For the first time, the entire list of nominees was unveiled live in a two-part announcement at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills. Directors J.J. Abrams and Alfonso Cuaron announced the first group of nominees for the awards show’s 24 categories, and then Into the Woods actor Chris Pine and Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs took the stage to announce the remaining nominees.
87th annual Academy Awards nominations:
Several stars received their first-ever nomination, including Steve Carell, Emma Stone and Eddie Redymayne, while Meryl Streep took home her 19th. Robert Duvall, who turned 84 years old last week, was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in The Judge. It’s his seventh career nomination, and he surpasses Hal Holbrook (Into the Wild) as the oldest male acting nominee in Oscar history. (Emmanuelle Riva was 85 when she was nominated for Amour.)
Winners of this year’s Oscars will be announced on Sunday, February 22, 2015, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood. The show will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris. Here’s a complete list of Oscar nominees . . . .
