A 3-year-old girl in Japan starved to death after her mother left her alone in her house to spend 8 days at her boyfriend’s house.

The house of the mother’s boyfriend was around 600 miles away.

The reckless mother thought it would be alright to leave the 3-year-old girl alone for over 1 week.

Noa, the girl, died from severe hydration and hunger after she was left in the apartment in Tokyo.

Authorities said that the apartment was filled with rubbish.

24-year-old Saki Kakehashi, the mother, visited her boyfriend Kagoshima Prefecture, which is a 2-hour flight from Tokyo.

A friend of Kakehashi said:

She had left home for several days and returned late at night, leaving her daughter unattended.

After she returned to her house on June 13, 2020, an emergency call revealed that Noa was not breathing.

The 3-year-old girl was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kakehashi was arrested on Tuesday this week, which is 1 month after she found Noa dead.

According to autopsy reports, Noa had suffered from thymic atrophy and her stomach was almost empty.

She also had a rash on her private parts because of the fact that no one changed her nappy for 8 straight days.

The 3-year-old was reportedly ill for some time before dying.

Her mother was unable to get treatment as she could not afford it.

Not only that, but Noa had also been absent from nursery for over 1 year.

The mother and daughter had been living in the Tokyo apartment since 2017 after Kakehashi’s divorce from Noa’s dad.

Kakehashi admitted to the allegation of negligence after being arrested.
