Acid Bath Killer Gets Released From Maximum Security Prison Because Of Fears He Will Catch Coronavirus

A notorious acid bath killer was released from a maximum-security prison due to fears that he could catch the deadly coronavirus.

The decision to release the Sicilian Mafia Acid Bath Killer has sparked outrage in the country of Italy.

The killer was servicing life for murdering and dissolving a rival’s teen son in a barrel of acid.

85-year-old Cosa Nostra mobster Cataldo Franco was released from prison on the outskirts of Milan and has been allowed to return to his hometown, which is in Geraci Siculo in Sicily.

Local media reports that his release was that the release of Franco was part of the government’s measure to prevent the spread of the coronavirus among the population of the prison.

What Did He Do?

Franco, the notorious acid bath killer, took part in the kidnapping of Giuseppe Di Matteo after his father Santino Di Matteo became a police informant.

The kid was kidnapped on November 23, 1993, when he was just 12.

4 mobsters that were working for crime boss Salvatore Riina and the brothers Giovanni Enzo Brusca, wore clothes that made them look like police officers and kidnapped the boy.

The men kept him in a property that was owned by Franco until October 1994.

In January 1996, authorities found out that the boy was strangled by Sicilian Mafia members and that his body was dissolved in acid.

Who Got Released?

Local media reports that Franco was one of the 370 inmates that got released by the authorities in Italy as part of the country’s coronavirus containment measure.

Matteo Salvini, an opposition leader, said that the release of Franco is an insult to the memory of the young victim and all the victims of the activity of the mafia.
