Alipore Court Grants Bail For The 7 Men Who Allegedly Harassed Former Miss India On Bonds Of Rs. 1000 Each
S Chaudhury, the Chief Judicial Magistrate at the Alipore Court, granted bail for the 7 men who allegedly harassed Ushoshi Sengupta, a former Miss India winner, on bonds of Rs. 1,000 each.
Partha Sarathi Mukherjee, a public prosecutor, said that the investigation will carry on identifying and arrest the other people who are involved in the case.
The 7 men were arrested by the police and were charged with molestation.
The police have seized two motorcycles that were used during the incident.
Ushoshi Sengupta, won the Miss India title in 2010, she is currently a model and an actor, she was harassed by 15 men who were riding motorcycles when she was riding a Uber Taxi with her colleague.
Sengupta said that the men hit the Uber taxi that she was in and dragged the driver and beat him up.
She also said that the men followed their taxi into her home in Lake Gardens, South Kolkata, and smashed the windscreen of the Taxi and told her to delete the video that she took of the incident.

Ushoshi Sengupta also claims that she went to the Maidan Police Station in Kolkata so she could file a complaint about the first incident, and went to the Charu Market Police Station in South Kolkata when the men attacked her outside her home.
During her visits inside the police stations, the police told her that the crime did not happen in their jurisdiction.
After fighting for her rights, the Charu Market Police Station registered her complaint.
She also posted pictures and video of the men on her Facebook account and shared the entire incident.
The post of Ushoshi Sengupta went viral on Facebook and it caught the eye of senior police officials of the Kolkata Police, who eventually got in touch with her and assured her that justice will be served.
The 7 men were arrested by the police on June 18, 2019, and the local court announced that the 7 men will stay in police custody until June 21, 2019.
A police officer from each the Charu Market Police Station, Bhowanipore Police Station, and Maidan Police Station has been suspended for not registering the complaint of Ushoshi Sengupta.
