The very rare double lightning rainbows were spotted in the skies across the country.

It looks like a lucky person might have hit a double item box on the Mario Kart circuit. (anyone who plays the game will know this pun)

For those who do not know, in Mario Kart, players can score both rainbows and lightning while zooming around the track.

Back to the topic, people all over the country managed to capture the amazing scenes and share them on social media.

Rainbows and lightning are not rare, however, the combination of these 2 things is something that you will not get to see very often.

The lightning was the result of energy charge in the atmosphere, which allowed for lightning when the thunderstorms in the sky developed.

People that saw the entire moment said that it was “phenomenal”.

How Did It Happen?

Rainbows are formed when sunlight bends and reflects inside raindrops that are falling from the sky. We do see them when there is sunshine or after showers. Thunderstorms are big showers, so they were there at the right time.

Basically, these 2 happened because of perfect timing.

A lot of energy was within the atmosphere so when the thunderstorms developed, there were plenty of electrical charges that produced lightning. The storms were also localized, so it did its job too. As the sun was setting, the angle of the sun was right with the thunderstorm to form the rainbows.
