Bizarre footage of a pig carcass being tied up and driven in a G-string style on the top of a pick-up truck has left drivers in China shocked and angry.

In the images and videos that went viral on social media, it showed the butchered animal being placed on the top of a pick-up truck as it was being brought to an engagement party.

The driver of the truck told a news agency in China that the pig was an engagement gift to his future daughter-in-law.

The driver said he had to tie the body of the dead animal because he was traveling from Fuyang to Shucheng.

During his interview with Pear, a local news agency in China, the driver said, “It was on November 14 and we were on the way to the future in-law’s house in Shucheng.”

He added, “It’s for my son’s wedding and they asked for a pig as gifts.”

The driver continued, “It’s slaughtered and cleaned and I planned to put it at the back of the truck but the in-laws wanted us to display it on top of the car so it would look nicer’.”

The Beijing Police Department stepped in after they saw the video on Weibo, a social media platform in China that is equivalent to Twitter.

The spokesperson of the Beijing Police Department said, “The maximum load for any pick-up truck is 1000kg and goods that fall below the limit can only be placed in the back of the truck.”

The spokesperson added, “The height of the goods placed must not exceed 2 meters from the ground.”

Users in China were baffled with what they saw, many of the users said it was a cruel way to show-off wealth and a bad way to treat an animal.
