Labrador who adopted 9 ducklings last year, adopts 6 more who were abandoned by their mother

Last year, Fred, the golden Labrador, decided to become a single parent after adopting 9 ducklings after their mum disappeared suddenly, it is believed that the mother duckling was attacked by a fox.

And after one year, here is Fred again, stepping up and adopting a second set of ducklings who needed his help.

Here is a video of Fred with the 6 ducklings who he recently adopted:

6 ducklings were abandoned by their Muscovy mother duck.

This is where Fred came in and did what all animals should do.

11-year-old Fred saw the ducklings huddling together, and after some time, the ducklings laid next to him.

Fred even helped them stay warm and kept them safe.

After some time, the ducklings started to climb over him and one little duckling even sat on his head.

Jeremy Goldsmith, the director of the Mountfitchet Castle, which is located near Stansted, Essex, where Fred stays as a resident pet, said, ‘He took to his role like a duck to water.’

Jeremy added, ‘Fred has got an absolutely wonderful nature. They absolutely love him.’

The director then said, ‘Fred indicated straight away that there would be no ducking out of his duties as he settled in around them.’

He added, ‘Within minutes the ducklings accepted their odd-looking new mum and were climbing all over him.’

Fred, the absolutely good doggo!!
