Video Shows How Crawler Crane Collapsed Onto Busy Road In Wuhan Crushing Cars And Trapping A Woman

A video that is viral on social media right now shows a horrifying moment a crawler crane collapsed on a busy road in Wuhan.

The incident crushed cars and pinned a female passenger inside one of them.

According to official reports, the incident happened in Wuhan,  the capital city of Hubei Province in China yesterday.

Footage shows a car being crushed by the collapsing crane boom as it overturns, with a man in the vehicle gasping in shock as the incident happened in front of them.

Another video shows a woman trapped in the backseat of the vehicle while pinned down by the vehicle’s caved-in roof, which collapsed because of the heavyweight of the crawler crane.

Luckily, no one was seriously harmed in the incident.

Local media agencies in China said that the driver and the woman in the car are receiving treatment at a hospital in Wuhan.

The cause of the accident is still unclear.

The incident occurred during the morning rush hour in the capital city of Hubei Province.

The crawler crane was reportedly hoisting a steel cage, said the Wuhan Urban and Rural Construction Bureau in a statement.

CFLD, the multi-billion real estate business that owns the high-profile site, is developing a 160-hectare commercial and residential complex.

The company, who are also the owners of Hebei China Fortune, a Chinese Super League Club, named the residential complex as the Wuhan Yangtze River Center, which is located on the banks of the longest river in Asia.

The construction of the residential complex began on April 14, 2020, which is 6 days after the coronavirus lockdown of the city ended.

The Wuhan Yangtze River Center is scheduled for completion in 2023.

It will be 1,312 high and will be the home of shopping centers and residential tower blocks.
