Besties With A Snake: This 7-Year-Old Girl From Surrey Has Tea Parties With A 15 Feet Python

Ed Taoka, a massage therapist from Surrey, Canada, is a proud owner of 2 reticulated pythons, 6-year-old Sonny and 5-year-old Cher, who are also the best friends of his 7-year-old daughter.

Emi, the 7-year-old daughter of Ed, is viral for her adorable yet frightening videos on social media, where she could be seen playing with her best friends.

The 7-year-old girl is known for having tea parties with her python pets.

During an interview with the news, Ed said:

The relationship between my daughter and the snakes has gotten stronger over time. The first time my daughter decided she wanted to touch the snakes, she was about a year and a half old.

Ed said he has social anxiety, and the only thing that calms him down is animals, especially his pet snakes.

He said he had an interest in reptiles when he was a young boy.

He added:

What I’ve been most surprised about is how calm they make me feel when I’m holding them.

Despite the fact that pythons are capable of killing humans in a matter of seconds, Ed says he is extremely comfortable with his daughter being near the snakes.

Talking about how he feels his daughter being around the snakes, Ed said:

When you invite any pet or animal into your house you have to expect to be bitten – all animals can bite. But I would never leave my daughter alone with any animal.

Ed said Emi started interacting with Sonny and Cher when she was only 1-year-old.

After Emi understood that the animals are dangerous, he allowed Emi to stroke the snakes and even play with them.

For people thinking that he is irresponsible, Ed says that he is always there when the snakes are with his daughter.

He added:

I think supervised interactions with constrictors are relatively safe. They are safer than trampolines and bouncy castles.

Ed says Sonny and Cher have docile and gentle personalities.

However, just like all animals, the animals act differently when food is around.

Sonny and Cher, the 2 massive snakes, are fed defrosted rats and rabbits once every 2 weeks.

Ed says you can see the changes in the eyes of the snakes when food is around.

Talking about how calm the animals are, Ed said:

As long as you don’t frighten or hurt them, they are very gentle and docile animals. They are actually nicer than most humans I’ve encountered.

Ed went viral on social media after he started to show videos of his daughter playing with the massive snakes.

The man says he wants to prove to people on social media that these snakes are not deadly.
