Controversial Playboy Model Faces Turkish Jail For Posing Nude In A Notable Mosque

Marisa Papen, a model, is currently facing up to 3 years in jail for taking part in nude photoshoots in some of Turkey’s most famous landmarks, which includes a notable mosque.

Papen, who is originally from Belgium, took the nude images in 2018 after traveling to Turkey with Jesse Walker, an Australian photographer, for a photo-shoot for his label ENKI Eyewear.

In one of the images that they took, Papen can be seen lifting up her burka to reveal her genital.

The nude picture was taken inside Hagia Sophia, a former Byzantine Church and Ottoman Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey.

She also posed naked in the arid region of Cappadocia and it did not take long until she got the attention of the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office of Istanbul.

According to reports, an official investigation has been launched against the model.

If caught by the police, Papen, a playboy model, will be charged with committing deceiving acts and publicly humiliating the state’s sovereignty.

An arrest warrant has been issued so that Turkish authorities can take her in for a statement regarding the incident.

For those that are wondering, this is not the first time Papen has been in trouble when it comes to following the rules, regulations, and beliefs of religions all over the world.

In April last year, Papen was subjected to a backlash for her comments about the tragic incident in Paris that saw almost the entire ancient cathedral of Notre Dame getting destroyed.

As the fire ripped through the cathedral, which is widely considered to be one of the most historical places on our planet, the model said: “Churches are burning… A new era is gonna come!!!!”

If that’s not enough, there is more.

Papen also made headlines previously when she was imprisoned for posing naked at the Karnak Temple Complex near the Egyptian city of Luxor.

She caused outrage amongst religious communities in Jerusalem after she went naked and took pictures of her at the backdrop of the Wailing Wall, which is considered as one of the most important sites in Judaism.

If you’re thinking it is all over, you are wrong.

In November 2019, Papen posed for a series of pictures in Iceland to highlight the effects of climate change as part of her project “PLASTICSUSHI”.

During an interview with the Central European News at that time, she said, “I had to strip off and lie on the ice. I didn’t see any other naked person jumping around laughing, it was certainly a challenge but I enjoyed every moment.”
