A man identified only as Mr. Qin is arrested by Chinese police on suspicion of murdering his girlfriend, whose surname was Lin. He posted a selfie with her corpse which went viral on social media. The picture was captioned with the phrase ‘please forgive my selfish love‘.

Qin and his girlfriend reportedly had a stormy relationship. But their latest quarrel inside their apartment turned violent resulting in Lin’s death.

Qin then clicked a selfie of him next to Lin’s dead face and uploaded the picture online alongside a previous picture of the couple enjoying each other’s company to Chinese social media site WeChat.

Thousands of users in China picked up on the image and spread it around the Internet. After he posted the disturbing image, it only took a few hours for police to capture him in Wuzhou.

Authorities have refused to comment on whether they had recovered the body of the young woman and declined to discuss Lin’s murder in detail.
