A 6-year-old boy was mauled to death by an abandoned pitbull a couple of days after the animal was seen roaming on their property.

The heartbroken mother of the 6-year-old boy said that the dog only took a second to send the life of her son.

Victoria Labar is now talking about the death of her son and is now telling everyone how it happened.

The horrifying incident comes after a couple of days after she found the dog roaming around on their property.

The victim has been identified as Cameron Hatfield, who is also known as Jayce.

Talking about the incident, the heartbroken woman said:

All it took was a second and he ended my boy’s life. My other dog and husband even tried to get the dog off my boy.

Labar said that the dog was dumped by local hunters.

She added:

Whoever you are … you dropped your trained-to-kill hunting dog off and thought nothing of the consequences of your actions.

Deputies of the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office were called to the house of the family on January 20, 2021.

The authorities said that they received a call regarding a kid being attacked by a stray animal.

The little kid was already dead when the authorities arrived at the scene.

On January 15, 2021, Victoria Labar made a post in Facebook saying that they had found a dog wandering on her land.

Talking about the dog, she said:

I really do not want to take this sweetheart to a shelter and he’s great with other dogs, big and small, Children, big and small, and my cat! He’s amazing! Truly wish I could keep him!

A couple of days after the incident, the mother made a post on social media, saying that the animal had killed her son.

She said in the post:

My six-year old little boy was attacked early this afternoon by the pit bull that I had been trying to find a home for. It had been abandoned on our property. I was an advocate for pit bulls and what happened today happened so fast that there was nothing that anyone could do.

The dog was behaving well with her family before the attack happened.
