In August 2017 the channel had announced a “short break” with Kapil and his show. An official spokesperson from the channel had said then that since Kapil had been under the weather, they had “mutually agreed to take a short break”, and that they would start shooting again once he recovers completely.

Later, Kapil Sharma was busy with his movie ‘Firangi’. It floundered at the box office, leaving a big question mark on his career. Then, Kapil had shared that he would be coming back with a fresh season of The Kapil Sharma Show after the release of his film Firangi. But now his plans might have changed.

And now, here is a good news for Kapil Sharma fans. The wait is over. According to the reports, it is said that Kapil is all set to come back with a bang. But this time, it’s not a comedy show, it is a game show. Earlier, it has been speculated that the show is Season 2 of The Kapil Sharma Show.

In this game show, Kapil will host celebrity guests as well as people from ordinary middle-class homes. A spokesperson close to Kapil reveals all the details,

“Kapil was inspired to do a game-show from the success of Amitji’s Kaun Banega Crorepati. Kapil is doing a game-show but not on the lines of KBC. It will be a unique format, not seen on Indian television. In fact, the format is being worked out as we speak. It will have celebrities and ordinary people on the hot seat. As host Kapil will interweave a lot of stories and jokes about the participants. The idea is to have fun while taking something home. The prizes will range from a pressure cooker to a luxury car.”

The last we saw Kapil on-screen was on TV shows like Super Dancer, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs among others where he appeared to promote his film Firangi.
