This Is What Saif Ali Khan Said To All Those Who Got Offended By His Son’s Name ‘Taimur’
Earlier in December 2016, Bollywood Bebo, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan were blessed with a beautiful baby boy in December last year. Despite the section of people who celebrated the event, there came up a section of social media that was offended with the name of their baby, Taimur Ali Khan.
However, both Saif and Bebo are officially not on social media and never reacted to the issue. But, recently, in an interview, Saif was asked about all the trolling over his child’s name and Saif handled the question in his patent chilled out demeanour. His answers were quite witty and mean.
Saif gave his ‘on the face’ answer to those trollers and shared the feelings he has with his newly born Taimur.
This is what the actor told about the idea behind naming their son as Timur,
“I’m aware of the heritage of the Turkish ruler and my son was not named after him. He was Timur, my son is Taimur. It is an ancient Persian name meaning iron. Both my wife and I liked its sound and the meaning. Perhaps, I should have added a disclaimer, as they do in the movies, that any resemblance to any person, living or dead, is purely coincidental.”
Now, he triggered his answer towards the controversy on social media:
“Social media just makes it clear what everybody is thinking in a sense. There is a lot of anonymity from the side of the people who are doing the talking so they feel free to say whatever they like, and sometimes they get very nasty. People talk about the country becoming right-wing and fascist, and we have all these fears…but the fact of the matter is that if you view the kind of unnecessary drama over Taimur, there were a lot of voices…I felt I didn’t have to say anything because a lot of people had spoken wisely and liberally.”
Saif concluded his explanation describing the time he is having with his kid, Taimur:
“Taimur scowls a lot, passes wind and yells so Kareena thinks he’s a lot like me—a cranky, farty yeller! And as far as I’m concerned I have three children and it makes me happy when I see them together and getting along.”
Saif’s answer is quite more than a response, he patiently answered the roundabout questions and hope the trollers finally got their piece of words.
