A Complaint was filed by MS Dhoni’s neighbours of Ranchi house for wasting thousands of liters of water in his swimming pool everyday in the crisis situation. The people alleged that 15,000 litres of water is being wasted everyday in Dhoni’s house.

“We have four bore wells but they do not work. But right next to our house is Dhoni’s house where thousands of litres are being wasted daily. The authorities must look into it,” says Dhoni’s neighbour Raju Sharma.

Even the state revenue minister Amar Bauri was complained to by the residents of the place. Bauri promised to act on the complaint where lack of water resources for around 5000 residents at Yamunanagar while Dhoni’s swimming pool ‘wastes’ thousands of litres of water each day.

Dhoni’s advisor in Ranchi has refused these claims and said that the pool is used only when he is in town and not everyday. Earlier, in 2007, around 40 residents from the neighbourhood had filed a plea against Ranchi Regional Development Authority regarding construction of the swimming pool at his house when the city was reeling under water scarcity.

The matter went to the Jharkhand high Court which later asked Dhoni to respond. However, a year later it was decided that the residents filed a petition with incorrect information and had to apologise.
