The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) board changed the marking scheme of the class 12 examinations from 2016. The board took this decision on Monday and said that the old “50 (theory) – 50 (practical)” pattern would be replaced by the new “70 (theory) – 30(practical)” scheme. ISC Changed Marking Scheme:

Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (abbreviated as CISCE) is a national level, private, Board of School education in India that conducts the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education and the Indian School Certificate examinations for Class X and Class XII respectively.It was established in 1958.

on Monday, the board has changed the examination marking scheme and is applicable from 2016. The changed marking scheme is only for the 12th board examination only. The chief executive officer of CISCE, Gerry Arathoon said that “Taking into consideration the requirements of the universities and that of the children these changes have been introduced. Every concerned school has been informed through circulars issued by the board and have been assigned the task to inform students and parents”.

The marking scheme in both written and the practical segment of Computer Science, Fashion Designing, Physical Education, Indian Classical Music (Hindustani), Indian Classical Music (Carnatic style) and Western Music have been changed. Earlier both the theory and practical marks are 50 each but now the theory is for 70 marks and practical is for 30 marks. Also, the duration for both the exams is 3 hours each. The board has 2,082 schools across India affiliated to it.
