Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi and wife Priyanka Alva Oberoi who were blessed with a daughter on the auspicious occasion of Akshya Tritiya in April, have named their baby daughter Ameyaa Nirvana. Vivek’s wife Priyanka gave birth to their daughter in her hometown Bengaluru.

The 38-year-old actor, who is also a proud father of two-year-old son Vivaan Veer Oberoi, took to micro-blogging website Twitter to share the news with his fans and followers on Tuesday.

“A belated but heartfelt thank you to all for your blessings and well wishes. Our li’l angel Ameyaa Nirvana melts our hearts a lil more every day,” Oberoi posted on Twitter.

“Ameyaa means, she who is limitless, while Nirvana, which was taken from Bhagavad Gita, means the embrace of the Universe.”

Excited about his new-born, Vivek says, “A father-daughter relationship is said to be very, very special. And it’s so true. Ameya is just three weeks old, but I already feel an intense emotion when it comes to her. In fact, I was overcome by an immense sense of responsibility and strength when I held her for the first time in the hospital. It was almost like taking a vow to protect my little princess — a bond for life,” says Vivek.

The “Krish 3” actor tied the knot with Priyanka, daughter of Karnataka minister Jeevaraj Alva, in Bangalore on October 29, 2010. Vivek will be next seen in Yash Raj’s ‘Bank Chor’.
