Florida Man Grabs Child, Tells Him To Take Off Mask, And Breathes In His Face Before Saying “You Now Have Coronavirus”

A 47-year-old Florida man was arrested by the police after he grabbed a child, told him to take off his mask, and getting close to him and breathing in his face.

The incident happened in Treasure Island.

Jason Andrew Copenhaver, of Redington Shores, was arrested on charges of simple battery and disorderly conduct after the incident.

According to reports, the incident happened at around 9:30 pm on Sunday at the 10601 Gulf Blvd., which is the address for Ricky T’s.

Jason reportedly approached the child, who was at a table wearing a mask.

The age of the boy that was involved in the incident was not shared with the public.

He asked the boy if he was wearing a mask and the boy responded that he was.

The man then told him to take it off, and when the boy refused, the man grabbed the boy’s hand tightly and breathed near the face of the boy.

He then told the boy that he now has the virus.

Officers said:

Victim stated that (Copenhaver) was in such close proximity that spit particles from (Copenhaver’s) mouth landed in his face.

Copenhaver then walked to a bar area, where the staff asked him to sit down because he was not wearing shoes and was intoxicated.

Copenhaver then tried to hit a staff member.

It is not known if Copenhaver has the virus.

He has never been tested before.

Copenhaver was booked in the Pinellas County jail.

He was released after posting a $650 bail.
