The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has recently announced the exam date for Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2016. The exam will be held on January 17, 2016, across the country. The registration window has opened today i.e. November 03, 2015 and the candidates can register for the test till December 10, 2015, on the official website of CMAT 2016 i.e., www.aicte-cmat.in. About CMAT 2016 Exam:

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) conducts its national level computer based common management admission test for admissions to AICTE approved MBA/ PGDM courses. The CMAT is a gateway for admissions into the MBA programmes offered by about 400 B-schools in 13 states including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Gujarat and Haryana. In addition, many B-schools offering PGDM programmes will also be using the CMAT-2016 scores. The CMAT 2016 exam will be conducted on January 17, 2016, for admissions for the academic year 2016-17.

Since 2012, AICTE has been conducting CMAT twice in a year, in the months of September and February. Unlike previous years, the exam from now onwards will be held once in a year. This year, the AICTE had cancelled exam proposed in September and announced it would organize CMAT only once a year from 2016 onwards. The first CMAT which will be conducted annually is going to be held on January 17, 2016, soon after XAT 2016.

CMAT 2016 Exam Registration Process:

For CMAT scheduled in January 2016, a notification will be released soon. Unlike previous years, it will be a single day exam. No official announcement regarding the change in the pattern of the exam has been made so far.

Eligibility Criteria: The candidates should be graduates in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST candidates). Final year graduation students can also apply for CMAT 2016.

Step by Step CMAT 2016 Application Procedure:

Step 1: Go to the official website www.aicte-cmat.in. Create an account by clicking on News User. After creating id, read the instructions, accept the declaration and proceed. Now you need to do Self Registration. Here you need to enter few basic details. Enter correct details and verify it before you click on SUBMIT button. After Submitting, this page will generate a unique 6 digit password. This password will be shown on your screen and will be sent to you via E-mail and SMS.

Step 2: After filling the form, you have to pay the fee. You can do the payment in either of the two modes;

Mode 1) ONLINE PAYMENT: You can select ONLINE PAYMENT mode and then do the payment using Credit card / Debit card / Net Banking. Once your payment is successfully done, you will receive a confirmation E-mail and SMS. Once you have received the successful payment confirmation, you can proceed with the remaining part of registration Form

Mode 2) CASH Payment in SBI bank: You can select this option to pay by CASH at any of the designated SBI bank branches. Once you select this option and proceed, you will see a CHALLAN on your screen with your details already filled in it. You need to take 3 PRINT OUTS of this CHALLAN, fill in the details wherever required in all the copies, and walk into your nearest SBI bank branch with CASH on the next day

Step 3: Now that you are done with the payment, you need to fill the remaining part of the form. After filling the complete form, once again check the complete data entered by clicking on VIEW/MODIFY button. Once you are sure that all the data entered is accurate, accept a declaration and click on I AGREE. The system will re-confirm to you for SUBMIT. Once you confirm, your form will get finally SUBMITTED and no change in the data is possible after.

Only the registered candidates will be able to download their Admit Card, which will be available from January 5, 2016.
