LBS Center was formed in 1976 by Govt.of Kerala for computer literacy. It aims to increase the computer knowledge and awareness in the Kerala state. The Centre was started by the Government of Kerala as an Autonomous body with the main objectives that the Centre would act as a link between the industries and technical institutions so as to benefit society through their mutual interactions.

In order to maintain a uniform standard of graduate and post graduate teaching through-out the Country, the Government of India through its notification in 1988 stated that only those candidates would be considered eligible for a post of lecturer, who besides fulfilling the minimum academic qualifications for it, also qualify in a comprehensive test, National Eligibility Test (NET) which is later changed as State Eligibility Test (SET)

LBS Kerala State Eligibility Test 2015 (SET) is a state level exam organized by  LBS Center for Science & Technology for the candidates to be selected as Higher Secondary School Teachers and  Non-Vocational Teachers. Lal Babahadur Shastri Center for Science and Technology, Kerala conducts State Eligibility Test (SET) every Year to offer Admission in LBS Kerala. There was two papers for LBS KERALA SET 2015.
