Kerala TET Exam 2015: Last Date for Online Application Form is 26th August
Kerala government has released the notification for Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test (TET). All the candidates who are eagerly waiting for TET 2015 examination can apply through online. The applications are started from 10th August 2015 and closes on 26th August 2015. Kerala TET 2015 examination is going to be held in the month of October 2015 for Category I (Lower Primary Classes) Category II (Upper Primary Classes) Category III (High School Classes) and Category IV (for Language Teachers – Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu (up to UP classes), Specialist Teachers (Art & Crafts) and Physical Education Teachers. Kerala TET 2015 Examination:
Pareeksha Bhavan conducts various types of examinations such As SSLC, ALEVEL, TTC, KGTE,KTET And THSLC. The RTE Act 2009 directs the State to ensure the quality requirement for recruitment of teachers. The persons recruited as teachers should possess the essential aptitude and ability to meet the Challenges of teaching at all levels of schooling. Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is an examination to assess the quality of teacher candidates for Lower Primary, Upper Primary and High School Classes in Kerala.
Teacher Eligibilty Test is recruit the teachers in schools at different levels. Separate test will be conducted to select teachers for Category I (Lower Primary Classes) Category II (Upper Primary Classes) Category III (High School Classes) and Category IV (for Language Teachers – Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu (up to UP classes), Specialist Teachers (Art & Crafts) and Physical Education Teachers.

- Date of KTET-II 2015: 03/10/2015 (Saturday) from 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm
- Date of KTET-III 2015: 17/10/2015 (Saturday) from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm

Educational Qualification:
CATEGORY-I (for Lower Primary classes) :
The candidates should qualify Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and two year Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent.
OR
The candidates should qualify Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations 2002.
OR
The candidates should qualify Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
OR
Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2 year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
Examination Pattern for KTET- I:
The paper consits of Multuple Choice Questions (MCQ’s) and a total of 150 questions with each question carrying 1 mark.
Syllabus for KTET- I :
Part- 1: Child Development and Pedagogy (relevant to age group 6-11), Mathematics, Environmental Studies and there will be 30 MCQ’s with each carrying 1 mark.
Part-II: Language I- Malayalam/Tamil/Kannada with 30 MCQ’s with each carrying 1 mark.
Part-III: Language II- English/ Arabic with 30 MCQ’s with each carrying 1 mark
CATEGORY II: (for Upper Primary classes)
Educational Qualification:
The candidates who are applying for KTET-II should have B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. and 2 year Diploma in Elementary Education/Trained Teachers’ Certificate (TTC) [by whatever name known] conducted by Board of Examination, Govt. of Kerala or its equivalent.
OR
B.A/B.Sc/B.Com with at least 45% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.), in accordance with NCTE (Recognition, Norms and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time in this regard
OR
Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks
and 4 year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
OR
Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4
year B.A / B.Sc.Ed or B.A. Ed or B.Sc.Ed
Examination Pattern and Syllabus:
The paper consits of Multuple Choice Questions (MCQ’s) and a total of 150 questions with each question carrying 1 mark.
Part I:
Child Development and Pedagogy (relevant to age group 11-14) with 30 questions each carrying one mark
A) For Mathematics and Science teachers: Mathematics and Science- 60 marks- 60 Questions
(b) For Social Science teachers: Social Science – 60 marks- 60 Questions
or
(c) For any other teachers (a) or (b) – 60 marks- 60 Questions
Part II:
Language IMalayalam/Tamil/Kannada/English- 30 marks- 30 Questions
Parrt III: Language II-(Other than Language I) Malayalam/English – 30 marks- 30 Questions
CATEGORY III (for High School classes):
Those who possess minimum educational qualifications as delineated here under are eligible to appear for K-TET III. The test is for HSAs in: (i) Malayalam (ii) English (iii) Hindi (iv) Sanskrit (v) Tamil (vi) Kannada (vii) Arabic (viii) Urdu (ix) Social Science (x) Physical Science (xi) Natural Science and (xii)
Mathematics.
Minimum qualification to apply :
(i) BA/BSc/B.Com with at least 45% marks and a B.Ed. Degree in the subject concerned (from any one of the Universities in Kerala or have acquired these qualifications from any other Universities recognized as equivalent thereto.)
(ii) For Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology, those who have MSc.Ed. Degree in the subject concerned with not less than 50% marks from one of the Regional Institutes of Education sponsored by NCERT will be eligible to apply. For Botany and Zoology subjects, those with MSc.Ed. Degree in Life
Science with not less than 50% marks from any of the Regional Institutes of Education are eligible to apply.
NOTE:
Candidates, who have acquired Diploma/Degree in teaching in any subject and are approved by Universities/NCTE/Board of Examinations/Govt. of Kerala, are eligible to apply for K-TET III. They will have to produce the equivalency certificate as recognized by any of the Universities in Kerala/Government of Kerala.
Candidates who have acquired their qualifications through recognized correspondence courses/ Open universities should obtain and furnish certificates of recognition and equivalency from any one of the Universities in Kerala.
For considering the minimum qualifications, the marks for main and subsidiary papers only will be considered.
Examination Pattern and Syllabus for K-TET -III:
The paper consits of Multuple Choice Questions (MCQ’s) and a total of 150 questions with each question carrying 1 mark.
Part-I: Adolescent Psychology, Theories of Learning and Teaching Aptitude – 40 MCQ’s- 40 Marks
Part II: Language: Malayalam/English/Tamil/Kannada – 30 MCQ’s- 30 Marks
Part III: Subject specific areas (Content & Pedagogy) – 80 MCQ’s- 80 Marks
CATEGORY- IV:
For Language teachers in Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, Urdu (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers and Physical Education teachers (up to High School level)
For teachers of Art Education and Craft Education, the existing, eligibility norms prescribed by the State Government shall be applicable till the time when NCTE lays down the minimum qualification.
This test will be for the category of candidates who intends to be a language teacher up to Upper Primary classes and fulfills the minimum qualifications (For specialist teachers & Physical Education teachers, the Eligibility Test is applicable up to High School level).
Minimum Qualifications to apply:
Those who have acquired qualifications for the posts of Language Teachers of Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit & Urdu (up to Upper Primary level), Specialist teachers & Physical Education teachers as mentioned in Chapter XXXI of KERALA EDUCATION ACT AND RULES are eligible to apply for K-TET IV.
Note:
Candidates, who have acquired Certificate/ Diploma/ Degree in teaching in any subject, and are approved by Universities /NCTE/ Board of Examinations/ Government of Kerala, are eligible to apply for K-TET-IV.
Examination Pattern and Syllabus for K-TET -IV:
The paper consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ’s) and a total of 150 questions with each question carrying 1 mark.
Part- 1: Child Development and Pedagogy and Teacher Aptitude – 30 MCQ’s – 30 Marks.
Part – II: Language Malayalam/English/Tamil/Kannada – 40 MCQ’s – 40 Marks
Part- III: Subjects specific paper (Content & Pedagogy) – 80 MCQ’s – 80 Marks.
Relaxation of qualifying marks to apply for K-TET – I, K-TET-II, K-TET-III and K-TET IV :
The candidates belonging to SC/ST and for differently anled categories the relaxation of 5% marks is admissible for qualifying as per the norms by Govt. of Kerala. Also the relaxation of 3% in qualifying marks is applicable for OBC and OEC candidates.
QUALIFYING MARKS:
A person who scores 60% or more in the K-TET examination will be considered KTET passed’ or ‘K-TET qualified’. This will be the qualifying marks for all categories and there are no negative marks.
Relaxation in Qualifying Marks
Candidates belonging to SC / ST / OBC / PH categories shall be granted a relaxation of 5% marks in the minimum qualifying marks. (Govt orderNo. 213/2014/G Edn/dtd. 27/05/2014).
Application Fee:
The Exam fee for each category is Rs. 500/- (Five Hundred only).The fee for SC/ST and differently abled categories is Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred and Fifty only).
How to Apply for K TET 2015 Examination Step I ?
- Candidates should log on to the official website of Pareekshabhavan.
- Click on K-TET 2015.
- Click on K-TET ONLINE APPLICATION – STEP 1.
- Fill in the required details.
- Photo should be uploaded in JPEG format and size below 30 KB.
- Choose any of the available branches of State Bank of Travancore in and around various places in India.
- After filling all the details click ‘SUBMIT’.
- Three copies of the chalan will be displayed. Take the printout of the chalan and remit the amount in the selected branch of SBT.
How to Apply for K TET 2015 Examination Step II ?
- After remitting the amount, log on to the official website of Pareekshabhavan again and click on K-TET ONLINE APPLICATION – STEP 2.
- Here enter application ID and application number provided in the chalan.
- Any correction in caste, category of caste and exam category will not be allowed after remitting chalan amount.
- Other corrections if any required should be made before confirming the application.
- A copy of printout of the application should be kept by the candidate for future use.
