MICAT 2016 Exam Date Rescheduled to December 13: Check Notification Here
MICA is an academic institution for Strategic Marketing and Communication skills in India released the notification for the admissions for first phase selection process into Post Graduate Management Diploma in Communications (PGDM-C) for the academic year 2016-2018. All the candidates who are interested and eligible can apply from 10th September 2015. Earlier MICA examination was announced to be conducted on 20th December 2015 but it has been re-scheduled to 13th December 2015 as the examination is going to clash with Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) 2015. All other details are same and there is no change in the deadline of the application. The following are the details of test centers, selection procedure and eligibility.
MICAT Exam 2015:
MICA’s flagship Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Communications (PGDM-C) has set a remarkable pace for itself since its inception in 1994. The PGDM-C, equivalent to an MBA, has evolved into one of the premier programs in the country. This program is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Association of Indian University (AIU), which equates it with an MBA degree. MICA compares favorably with the top B-Schools and top MBA colleges in India. It is, of course, considered to be the premier institute in Strategic Marketing and Communication.
MICAT 2015 Exam Date Rescheduled :
MICA Ahmadabad conducts MICAT exam every year. This year it has released the notification and announced that exam will be on 20th December 2015. But, now as the SNAP 2015 is going to be held on same day MICA decided to re-schedule the exam date. Now, MICAT 2015 is going to be conducted on 13th December 2015. All the students who are looking for the admissions into Post Graduate Management Diploma in Communications (PGDM-C) for the academic year 2016-2018 can apply for this examination. Four Major Changes in MICAT 2015:
- The admission process for PGDM-C 2016 intake sees following 4 major changes in terms of selection cycle, eligibility exams, aptitude test format and Group Exercise & Personal Interview (GE&PI) centers.
- The selection process for PGDM-C 2016-18 to happen twice i.e in January and March
- Candidates will have to take at least one of the three eligibility exams: CAT 2015, XAT 2016 and GMAT (2012 on wards).
- MICAT will be held only in the computer based format in 14 cities across the country.
- First phase Group Exercise & Personal Interview (GE-PI) will be conducted at Bengaluru, Delhi, Kolkata & Mumbai and the second phase GE-PI at MICA, Ahmadabad only.
Eligibility:
The candidate who are interested to apply for PGDM-C at MICA should have Bachelor’s degree (in keeping with the 10 + 2 + 3 system) or an equivalent qualification in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities. Candidates appearing for final examinations towards a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are also eligible to apply.
Selection Procedure:
The selection process for PGDM-C 2016-18 at MICA has three steps
- Each candidate has to take at least one of the 3 exams CAT 2015, XAT 2016 and GMAT (2012 on wards).
- Every applicant will be required to appear in MICA Admission Test (MICAT). The test is conducted to assess leadership potential of the applicant reflecting an aptitude for creative thinking, communication and consumer centricity.
- Based on the performance in the MICA Admission Test (MICAT), applicants are shortlisted for Group Exercise (GE) and Personal Interview (PI) to assess a candidate’s overall.
Examination Pattern:
MICA is an computer based examination. The following are the areas from which the question paper may appear.
- Divergent Thinking Abilities,
- Written Communication Abilities,
- General Awareness about contemporary social and business issues
- Areas relevant to media, marketing, advertising & current affairs and
- Analytical & Verbal Abilities.
- psychometric profiling to assess the candidate’s leadership potential.
Test Centers:
The examination is going to be held on 13th September at 14 centers i.e; Ahmadabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Jaipur, Jammu, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, Lucknow and Mumbai.
