Baaghi 2 Makers In Trouble As Original “Ek Do Teen” Makers Seek Legal Action.
Bollywood’s obsession with ruining old classic songs sees no end. From Oye Oye in Azhar to Humma Humma in Ok Jaanu to yesterday’s Ek Do Teen in Baaghi 2, Bollywood industry was quite successful in ruining our childhood. These songs were the classic songs of B-town and remixed versions ruined them to the core.
Madhuri Dixit played the role of Mohini in the movie Tezaab and danced in the song “Ek Do Teen” which is now remixes by Baaghi 2 team and Jacqueline Fernandez played the role of Madhuri Dixit in the song. Undoubtedly, Jacqueline is one of the prettiest actresses in the industry. But does she have the grace and aura of Madhuri Dixit? Hell No! Only Madhuri Dixit can play the role of Mohini with such innocence.
The makers of the original song are furious over ruining a classic song. Tezaab’s director N.Chandra and composer Saroj Khan are trying to file a legal case on the makers of the film. Here’s what they said,
“I can’t believe they’ve done this to ‘Ek Do Teen’. It’s crass beyond imagination. And Jacqueline Fernandez doing Madhuri Dixit’s number? Give me a break! It’s like turning the Central Park into a botanical garden. Madhuri danced with such grace and innocence.”
They further added referring to Deepika Padukone’s Dum Maaro Dum song and said,
“Anyone can do anything to your creation just because there are no laws to protect our property. I remember some years ago, RD Burman’s ‘Dum Maro Dum’ had been similarly vandalized.”
Madhuri’s version of “Ek Do Teen” was quirky and fun and an absolute eye feast to watch as Madhuri’s expressions in the song were lovely. But coming to Jac’s version, her expressions were plastic and overly sexualized and the guys around her pulling off her denim jacket is absolutely disgusting to watch.
Though makers tried to copy Madhuri’s signature steps in the song, the grace of Madhuri was missing. Makers even failed in designing Jacqueline’s costume. They completely changed this song to an item number. The makers of Baaghi 2 wanted to give a tribute to Madhuri Dixit’s classic song “Ek Do Teen” but failed miserably in doing the same and now landed in trouble for remixing the song.
To be honest, Jacqueline’s version of “Ek Do Teen” should be an epitome example of why Bollywood should stop remixing old songs.
