Saif Ali Khan`s Chef has hit the theaters with a lot of expectations. His previous film “Rangoon” which starred with Kangana Ranaut, Saif and Shahid Kapoor received good reviews from the audience but performed poorly at box office.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#Chef has a shockingly low start… Fri ₹ 1.05 cr. India biz… Need to witness massive growth on Sat and Sun to sustain.”

Saif Ali Khan has huge expectations on this movie Chef, directed by Raja Krishna Menon. In this movie he plays a role of Chef who is fired from his job, later he goes back to his family and starts a food truck which grabs the customers attention within no time.

Trade analyst Girish Johar said, “To some extent, ‘Judwaa 2’ will remain a competition to ‘Chef’. It has done fantastic business and the mass has really loved the film. But ‘Chef’ as the new release has an edge over ‘Judwaa 2’. If Chef’s content is good and people actually like it, then the film may collect as much as Rs 15 crore by the end of the weekend.”

Film critic, Shubhra Gupta said, “There are some interesting flavors here, but ‘Chef’ feels derivative and doesn’t come together as a fully satisfactory dish. And that’s got to do with the uneven, stodgy writing. The smoothness that should have been part of a first-rate spread is evident only in some parts: the others are awkward and stilted and contrived, and that impacts the entire film.”

Chef Collections:

Chef has collected about 1.05 cr on the first day of release which is not expected. It is expected that this movie will collect more by the end of the weekend.
