Akash Ambani who is the heir to billionaire business tycoon Mukesh Ambani proposed his girlfriend, Shloka Mehta amid both the families at a private ceremony in Goa which was followed by a celebratory dinner. Shloka Mehta is the youngest daughter of Billionaire Diamantaire Russell Mehta who owns the company Rosy Blue which is an Indian-Belgian diamond company. Shloka Mehta’s mother is a close relative of Nirav Modi who is the accused in PNB scam.

The Ambani’s and Mehta’s have known each other for quite some time now. Both the billionaires of the country use to reside in the same building and their kids used to go to the same school and friendship bloomed between both the families.

Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta have known each other since their schooling. They have studied together in Dhirubhai Ambani International School. After completing her schooling Shloka Mehta flew to the US for studying anthropology at Princeton University while Akash went to Brown University to study Economics.

Shloka Mehta also has masters in law from the London School of Law and Political Sciences. She is more on the philanthropic side and is an Avid reader.

Shloka Mehta is the director of Rosy Blue diamonds since 2014 and also has her own startup called ConnectFor which connects volunteers with the NGO’s.

When asked Akash about his wife-to-be he says he feels lucky to find a life partner in a close friend. He stated that,

“I am truly happy that our friendship has blossomed into love and Shloka and I are getting married. She is a truly special and extremely kind-hearted person.”

Nita Ambani gave a statement saying,

“Mukesh and I have given a very strong Foundation to our kids and even larger wings to fly. They have the freedom to take decisions for themselves and of course, choose whom they would want to spend the rest of their lives with. Marrying the one you love is gratifying and heartwarming. I have known Shloka since she was 4 and we are delighted to welcome her to our home and our hearts.”

Akash Ambani is currently the chief strategist of Jio which caused a huge revolution in the telecom industry right from its start. He is also a director in Reliance Industries Limited.
