Just Before ‘PADMAN’ Release, PV Sindhu Gets Challenged By Deepika Padukone
Right after the critically acclaimed movies like ‘Airlift’,’Toilet’ and ‘Rustom’, Akshay Kumar is all set to come up with another social-drama based on Tamil Nadu’s Arunachalam Muruganantham. This film titled ‘Padman’ stars actors Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte.
The story is all about a social activist who revolutionized the concept of menstrual hygiene in rural India by creating a low-cost sanitary napkins machine. Padman revolves around the story of Arunachalam who invented low-cost sanitary pads. Now, as the release date of Padman is approaching soon, the actor thought of starting a challenge and promote the movie uniquely.
In this regard, Padman Challenge took off and it is one of the trending topics on social media today. Arunachalam Muruganantham, a social entrepreneur who invented the machine for manufacturing low-cost sanitary pads, initiated a #PadManchallenge on social media.
Deepika Padukone has now come forward to show her support for PadMan. Deepika shared a post in which she accepted the challenge and challenged Indian shuttler PV Sindhu if she can. She wrote, “Thank you for tagging me @akshaykumar! Yes, that’s a Pad in my hand & there’s nothing to be ashamed about…It’s natural! Period. #PadManChallenge.”
PV Sindhu has taken up the ‘PadManChallenge’ after she was nominated by actress Deepika Padukone. Sindhu posted a pic of herself posing with a sanitary pad and wrote, “Thank you for tagging me Deepika Padukone! Yes, that’s a pad in my hand. Periods are normal. Just another day…#PadManChallenge”
Though she hasn’t nominated anyone for the challenge, PV Sindhu, an Olympic medallist, is the first sports personality to take up the ‘PadManChallenge.’
Other actors like Aamir Khan, Anil Kapoor, Rajkumar Rao, Karan Johar, Farhan Akthar, Madhuri Dixit, Arjun Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Swara Bhaskar, Sophia Choudry, Dia Mirza too accepted the PadMan Challenge.
Deepika Padukone and PV Sindhu recently met in New Delhi during Prakash Padukone’s award ceremony. Deepika is also a badminton player like her father. Before starting a career in modeling, she used to practice the sport.
According to the reports, several media sources suggested that Deepika might star in PV Sindhu’s biopic, made by actor Sonu Sood.
