The most anticipated Telugu film “Mahanati” titled “Nadigaiyar Thilagam” in Tamil, is an upcoming 2018 Indian Telugu -Tamil languages biographical period film, based on the life of South Indian actress Savitri, directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by C. Ashwini Dutt for Vyjayanthi Movies. It stars Keerthy Suresh in the titular role, Dulquer Salmaan, Samantha Akkineni, Vijay Devarakonda, Naga Chaitanya, Anushka Shetty, Mohan Babu, and Prakash Raj. The film began production in May 2017, and is now all set to release on 9th May 2018. The audio launch of this film is going to organized i.e on May 1^st 2018 evening.

 

The principal shoot of the biopic of “savitri” garu has began on 29th May 2017 at Ramakrishna Studios in Hyderabad, with the Telugu title confirmed as Mahanati and the Tamil title confirmed as Nadigaiyar Thilagam.[18][19] Actor Rajendra Prasad joined the cast during the first schedule, while Mickey J Meyer and Dani Sanchez-Lopez were confirmed as music composer and cinematographer respectively.

The director, Ashwin revealed that Dulquer’s portrayal of Gemini Ganesan would go beyond just the physical resemblance and the character’s emotional side would also be depicted. Keerthy Suresh was requested to put on weight for the film and shot for a vintage song in early June 2017 as a part of the first schedule. Prakash Raj also joined the team in August 2017 to allegedly play the role of producer Aluri Chakrapani.

This biopic includes the whole cast like keerthy Suresh, Samantha Akkineni, Dulquer Salamaan, Vijay Dverakonda, Naga Chaitanya Akkineni, Shalini Pandey, Anushka Shetty, Mohan Babu, Rajendra Prasad, Prakash Raj, Krish, Malavika Nair and many more experienced artists are seen in this film.
