Synopsis:

Missing movie story review:

A small girl goes missing in the numb of the night, but the parents of this little girl run everywhere in the exotic locations of a Mauritius resort like headless chickens. In all fair-mindedness, you don’t expect shocked parents to be composed in their conduct, but the way the effects play out in “Missing” pushes the idea of interruption of distrust, way away from its limits. This mishmash screenplay is full of standard movie tropes. The execution is so unprofessional and the performances so ridiculous that the film becomes unintentionally funny.

MISSING REVIEW

One of the biggest problems with the film is the fact that it’s based in a Mauritian location that looks like the perfect honeymoon resort. It’s the last place you’d expect to find dread. Sunny beaches and extravagant gardens aren’t the places where you can see yourself pulsating with fear or conspiracy. As the film moves on, the situations, the characters and the plot become more insufferable. The suspense around the missing girl wears thin, with every passing scene. By the time the climax attains, unscrambling the mystery doesn’t matter anymore.

The weak plot and its poor treatment, are the destruction of this film which had the potential of becoming a thrilling film. The music by M.M. Kreem does nothing to uplift the viewing experience and the only song, a ‘Lori’ sung by Tabu for her daughter, is jaded. The background score, however, augments some of the scenes and quickens the pace. the element of the thrill is sadly missing in debutant Writer-Director Mukul Abhyankar’s ‘Missing’.

Positives:

Locations

Cinematography

Negatives:

Poor storyline

Predictable climax

Failure of emotions

Final verdict:

What worthy is a thriller that’s not thrilling? It gets worse when you start laughing at a mystery movie. Any and all prospect of this film is lost in the midst of shoddy filmmaking. This is a pointless movie rather than a mysterious one.
