It looks like Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon starrer Raabta has involved in another trouble. Raabta has been in the news for a while for all the wrong reasons. We had recently seen the makers of Telugu movie ‘Magadheera’ decided to take Raabta makers to court over copyright violation.

We also saw that the Magadheera makers even sought an injunction on the release of the film on June 9. And now, there is another allegation on the movie and that is on one of the songs.

Punjabi singer J Star has alleged that the music company T-Series has used his popular track Na Na Na Na for the promotional video of Raabta, titled Main Tera Boyfriend without his consent. The song Main Tera Boyfriend was released recently as a promotional song before the release of the movie.

And the song has been grabbing the eyeballs of the masses owing to the popularity of the hit original track by J-Star. Hence, singer J Star took to his official Facebook page to reveal that the song has been used in the film without his permission.

He wrote: “T-Series music company has used my track ‘Na Na Na Na’ for #Raabta movie promotional track ‘Mai Tera Boyfriend’ without my consent.

“They (music label T-series) had approached me in January 2016 to procure the rights to the song. I didn’t agree to and was shocked to see them use it in Raabta without my permission. I have the legal rights to the song. I had released it under my label (J Star) and it has got 83 million hits worldwide,” J-Star told.

Responding to J-Star’s allegations, T-Series said, “Our New Song “Tu Mera Boyfriend” from the film Raabta is nothing but an adaptation of our earlier song namely “Girl Friend Boy Friend” (hereinafter the “Original Song”) that was produced by T-Series  in the year 2007 and was also released as part of its compilation album titled Punjabi Blockbuster. That Original song was sung by Mr. Gopal Sharma, composed by Mr. Sohrabuddin and written by Mr. Jitendra Raghuvanshi and all rights in the said Original Song and the underlying components thereof were acquired by T-Series through valid written Assignment agreements with the said artists. By way of the above-mentioned Agreements, T-Series has the specific right of using any part of the Original Song or creating an adaptation of the Original song. Making use of this right in the Original song, the New Song for the purpose of the Film was created. Accordingly, We not only have complete and valid copyright in the Original song but also in, the New song, its adaptation. In fact, J Star infringed our song released in 2007 and he should be thankful that T-Series did not take legal action against J Star for infringing T-Series Copyrights.”
