The much-awaited biopic of the legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar finally released on 26th May. The film was released amidst all the hype that was built around it. The film is said to cover the 24-year career of Sachin in a couple of hours. However, the movie seemed to have lived up to the expectations.

There are many reasons for Sachin Tendulkar’s biopic, as it was expected to create a storm. Firstly, it is the living legend of Cricket, who had been quite popular during his days on the field. Secondly, the film might be a major throwback to those days when you heard the chant ‘Sachin Sachin’ almost everywhere.

Before the release, people were eager for its release because they wanted to see their God on big screen acting in his own role. The curiosity was even more as the film presents several unknown stories of Sachin’s personal and cricketing life.

The long wait is finally over and Sachin Tendulkar’s biopic has released in 2400 screens in India and 400 screens overseas. The film opened to a 40% occupancy in the morning, in spite of Friday being a working day.

After Baahubali-2, it’s Sachin’s film which is ready to create the storm at the Box Office. On an opening day, Sachin: A Billion Dreams collected 9 crores. As compared to the first day collections of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story i.e. 21.30 crores, Sachin’s biopic has earned less, but it might soon pick up speed over the weekend.

Sachin Tendulkar is the first Indian to have a biographical drama on his life journey where he will be portraying his own role. ” You can almost feel goose bumps when you hear the chant ‘Sachin Sachin’,” said a viewer.
