This Was Sridevi’s One Last Advice To Daughter Jhanvi Kapoor On Her Bollywood Debut
On February 25, the country woke up to the shocking news of one of a legendary actress of Bollywood Sridevi’s death. Indian cinema lost the versatile actress and gems Sridevi who breathe her last in a family function in Dubai. She was only 54 and cause of her death was a major cardiac arrest.
Sridevi’s untimely death has left a void in the entire film fraternity in India. Many celebrities and politicians took Twitter to share their grief but her demise is perhaps the biggest loss to her family. It was just five months before her elder daughter Jhanvi Kapoor’s Bollywood debut, Sridevi died in Dubai.
She was in Dubai to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding when she suffered a cardiac arrest on Saturday night, leaving her family, fans, and Bollywood in shock. While her husband Boney Kapoor and younger daughter Khushi Kapoor accompanied Sridevi to the wedding in Dubai, Jhanvi decided to stay behind in Mumbai to shoot for her debut film Dhadak.
Sridevi’s sudden demise would not only have come as a major shock for the star kid but would leave a lifetime wound as her mother won’t be there to see her debut film in July. Apart from all these, Jhanvi couldn’t get to spend the last days with her mom, which is a heart-breaking situation for her.
While Sridevi is no more amongst us, she will survive and live in our memories through her films and the actress will be succeeded by her 2 daughters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, we all know the doting mother that Sridevi was. But looking forth, Janhvi certainly has her mother’s advice to go forth in not only her career but her life in general.
In fact recently at the Lakme Fashion Week, we saw how Sridevi was quite protective of her daughter and now that she is gone, all remains our memories. In one of her interviews, Sridevi talked about the advice that she keeps giving Jhanvi regarding her big screen debut. She had said, “As a mother, like any mother, whether they are coming to this profession or any other, you just tell them to do the right thing. Like, do hard work, give your 100 percent, hard work always pays.”
In another interview to DNA, when she was asked about the constant comparisons that Jhanvi will have to face after her debut, Sridevi had said,
“We can’t run away from that. She has to face the pressure. When she has decided to enter Bollywood, she has to go through all this. She’s prepared for all that, and I am also preparing myself for it. Sometimes, it scares me. So many thoughts come and you feel why is she doing this? But then, if you feel that is her aim and happiness, as a mother, I will support her like my mom supported me. We weren’t from a film background but it happened and she stood by me, fought for me and made sure I am happy. That’s how I would also like to be with Janhvi.”
Janhvi’s Dhadak is set to hit the screens on July 6.
