This Movie Producer Rejected Baahubali SS Rajamouli’s Appeal For Dubbing Rights, Know Why?
It was a one-way success journey for Baahubali’s director SS Rajamouli. All the way from the inception of his career, this star director has dethroned many records, he literally rewrote the style of film-making and became the non-stereotypical path-breaker of the Indian cinema.
Leaving no stone unturned, it is quite clear that Rajamouli has now perfected the art of movie-making. His recent socio-fantasy flick-sequel Baahubali-The Conclusion depicts the rest. Well, it is a gunshot bang for him.
People are now pretty curious about his next project. With all the success he garnered till now, there is no possibility of someone showing their backs to him. Well, now, imagine Rajamouli himself approaching a movie maker for the dubbing rights! Who can’t agree with him?
But yeah! some one literally turned him down. Sai Korrapati, a popular Tollywood producer earlier approached Lyca Productions’ Subaskaran Allirajah for the dubbing rights of Shankar’s directorial sequel to Robo, named as Robo 2.0, and as there is a mutual disagreement in the price concerns, the deal somehow didn’t work out.
Disappointed Korrapati now urged Rajamouli to bag the dubbing rights for him, asked him to approach the producer Subaskaran, to everyone’s surprise, same happened. The quotation that was submitted by Korraopati summed up to Rs 60 crores, while, Subhaskaran demanded Rs 80 crores for the same.
Robo 2.0, scheduled to be released on January 25, 2018, is currently under shooting. It is believed that the budget is around Rs 400 crores. Popularly known as the sequel, this movie casts South Indian ‘Thalaiva’ Rajinikanth and Bollywood’s prominent face ‘Akshay Kumar’.
Now that it is transparent that the movie’s fate isn’t at all linked to Sai Korrapati’s Varahi Creations, experts assumed that no one might pay that staggering amount for Robo 2.0, as it appeared like risking some handsome sum. All a while, popular distributor Sunil Narang has entered the loop bagging the dubbing rights for Rs 81 Crores.
Director Shankar earlier tasted an utter defeat with his ‘I’ movie. Post that result, it is believed that the script of this movie is absolutely promising and more innovative.
Similar fate knocked Rajinikanth’s door when his recent crime-thriller Kabali was released, well, it seems that this movie matters a lot for both.
