Anushka Sharma, who never shies to give her own opinions on burning issues, has now addressed this criticism by citing an example of Belarusian professional tennis player Victoria Azarenka to explain her character, Aarfa’s decision in the film.

Anushka shared the letter by Victoria Azarenka to put across her point that freedom to choose motherhood or career for a woman is empowering. This is what Anushka shared.

Anushka wrote, “Choosing motherhood over a career is empowering. Choosing your career over motherhood is empowering. The freedom to choose is empowering.”

We must say – Anushka’s response is quite hard-hitting.

Sultan, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and touted to be a sports-drama, has garnered immense success at the box-office.
